Some organizations put a call out for volunteers to show up on the day of an event, and some organization have extensive training and impose strict guidelines. In many cases volunteering can be either be an unorganized and hectic adventure or it can be a rewarding experience.
The Kuumba Family Institute, Inc. respects and applauds those who step up to volunteer, especially when it comes to participating in the Annual International Locks Conference which is entering its 23rd year. The Annual International Locks Conference, Natural Hair, Wholistic Health and Beauty Expo will take place on October 7 & 8, 2017 at Universal Audenried CHS from 12 noon-9:30 each day. It is the longest running conference of its kind.
If you have you attended the Locks Conference you would have either noticed the courteous volunteers and/or had some pleasant interaction with the volunteers. Because volunteers are the backbone of the conference, each year the Kuumba Family Institute recruits and trains volunteers. Since volunteers provide support for the vendors, attendees, and staff, we look for volunteers that are energetic, organized, reliable, and hardworking. Our volunteers are treated special, earn community service hours, lean new skills, have fun, and learn more about health and wellness.
